Check out "Sign Of The Times" by Shaka Man...from the LP "Baptism Fire" originally a 1986 USA, Florida pressing. Wicked wicked militant tune with a flow that is reminicsent of Barrington Levy - Here I Come.
Johnny P -Anti Litter Law(Blue Mountain 7") - This one surprised me... early tune from Johnny P who did such timeless classics as "you breath a badda me" & "young & she green"
The following tunes are from the lp "Reggae" by Boule Noire. This LP was originally released in 1982 (Canada) and the production is hard hitting. The lyrics are a hybrid of French & English. A must have for any 80s reggae music lover, regardless of your spoken langauge.
If you go to the profile page of the Youtube uploader, NattyRueben, you'll hear a few other cuts from this lp. "La Loi De Jah" is a remake of Kush Dan I's "Law Of Love."
Midnight Riders has a such an amazing & consistent catalog of total gems. "Wanted" "Youthman Invasion" "Illegal Gun" "Set U Self" "Posse Form A Line"..etc..etc...However, it doesn't end there! He also has some new stuff lined up for 2011 and beyond...So set u self and form a line for the invasion wanted by the massive.....Midnight Riders rise again.
Support this gifted singer & the producers who recorded and will record him.
Check out the absolutely killer (late 80s?) "Defacto Apartheid" cut by Moses E. Henriques. Not sure if this was ever released on vinyl, but you can listen to the whole song on the artist's myspace. You can also buy a high quality digital copy of it on his album Reggae Justice at Amazon Downloads for only 99 cents.
Jammy's, Home T - Red Hot (LP) has grown on me so much over the past few months. Some really quality tracks on this. A very fresh & pleasant listen.
Track #2 next cut to Robert Lee - Fantasy World Track #3 next cut to Robert Lee - Lovely Lady Track #4 next cut to Frankie Paul - Survival Track #9 next cut to Conroy Smith - Sugar Me
More killer Frankie Paul tunes. Sounds like both tunes are on the same riddim, with the romantic 7" (1986) being a remake of the original channel one LP cut,"No Roof/Where I My Head"
