The Herb Is For The Healing of Jah Nation...

"Mr. Officer" (W&B Records 12", '84)
"The herb is for the healing of Jah nation and the grass is for the cattle on the field." Frankie Jones tries to convice the officer not to lock him up over night for carrying a small amount of herb. Same riddim and title as Wayne Blackstock's - Mr Officer on Tonos 12". Which of the two do you like better? listen

  1. You have the highest morals of all reggae blogs worldwide. Unfortunately, the black people who made this music WERE NEVER PAID. When you say all of these are available, you mean to rich kids who sell them back and forth on ebay. The black people who made the music are still not paid, despite your high opinion of yourself and your little blog. Not sure where you're coming from, you are too scared to even have a cbox and open up discussion- Marco

  3. so let me make sure i understand, because the artists were "never paid", that means all this music should be available to you for free? nice logi. stop crying and go pirate music somewhere else, your comments on this blog are pathetic.

  4. Marco makes a good point about none of the artist receiving compensation. How would you like to put your heart and soul into everything you got and get nothing. Then see your recording being sold by collectors at ridiculous prices, while your still suffering to make it through the day. The people that say Marco is crazy obviously doesn't understand the meaning of Roots music.

  5. Original press records are limited and just like anything that is rare, supply and demand will drive prices up. The same logic can apply to art, sports collectibles, etc..

  6. You are no better than a big time recording company in terms of stealing from these artists. You sit around collecting your records that are "rare" and make a killing profit of it. Your more concerned about having wealth than actually enjoying good music and sharing the vibes with ur bredrens. Record collecting should be a hobby not a source of income.

To support the artists go to a live show. Why do u think so many big artists are touring right now because there BROKE!! They never made money from their recordings, and people like u keep making money off them yet u had no involvement with the production of the tune, u simply found the record and then posted a mp3 of it to try and make money from the masses. YOU ARE THE BABYLON!!

  7. Following that logic, all online retailers who list original presses, represses with sound clips are babylon?

  8. what does any of this have to do with this blog, which just posts excerpts of music and editorializes on them? this blog does not make money. you guys are rambling nonsense about a bunch of issues that are not connected. if you are so concerned about an artist getting paid, go voice a dubplate with him AND STOP CRYING THAT YOU CAN'T GET FREE AKA PIRATE MUSIC FROM THIS BLOG.

  9. newsflash:
artists do not, will not, should not receive royalties from products re-sold by their owner. a record is a product and as the buyer/owner of a product, you have the right to do whatever you want with it, including re-sell it. if the artist was treated unfairly by the label, producer, etc. at the time of the original release of a product, that has NOTHING TO DO WITH re-selling a piece of merchandise that you own. get a grip on reality.
i am 100% for artists' rights but record collecting and selling of 2nd hand records has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE RIGHTS OF ARTISTS.
